Natchitoches prepares for Cane River Zydeco Festival and Poker Run | Events
The following is a news release from the Natchitoches Convention & Visitors Bureau:
The Magnolia State Peace Officer’s Association will host the its annual Cane River Zydeco Festival and Poker Run on Labor Day Weekend in historic downtown Natchitoches.
Festivities begin on Friday, August 30 and last throughout the day on Saturday, August 31. All events will take place around the downtown stage on the banks of the scenic Cane River Lake in the Landmark Historic District.
Events on Friday are free and open to the public.
The lineup for Friday night is as follows:
6 p.m. Kickoff with DJ Doc Couty
6 p.m. Registration for the Saturday Poker Run
7 p.m. Motorcycle Games
9 p.m. Zydeco Dance Contest, with 1st and 2nd place winners receiving a cash prize.
Admission for the festival on Saturday is $7 for persons 12 and older.
The lineup for Saturday, August 31 is as follows:
9-11:30 a.m. Poker Run Registration
1 p.m. Gates open w/DJ Doc Couty
4 p.m. Jeremy and the Zydeco Hot Boyz
7:30 p.m. Marcus Ardoin and the Zydeco Legends
The public is invited to bring lawn chairs to the event, but no ice chests will be allowed. Food vendors will be present.
Free parking will be available in the downtown area, and Front Street will remain open. Parking will not be allowed on the riverbank. Gates to the festival area will be located at staircases leading down to the riverbank area.

All proceeds will benefit the Cane River Chapter of the Magnolia State Peace Officers Association.
